Hot and Humble

The idea of humility is something we all have different ideas about and there are many old programs we associate with this ideal that need to be discarded and/or re-examined.

The collective idea about being humble often denotes this idea that we make ourselves small and/or deny ourselves our desires and often carries with it the energy of martyrdom.

A lot of this is from old religious programs that many of us are still invested in, whether we were raised religious or not.

What I can say about humility if you find yourself in conflict about whether to share your gift, take the focus off of the self and bring it into service.

For if you have a gift, what good is it to hide it? That gift was given to you to share with the world. Even if the world means a few people in your community, your friends or your family - it’s still there to be shared.

We must learn to share + give of our talents freely regardless of the size of the audience or who responds. Delivering a message or touching the heart of one person is not necessarily any less impactful than being able to reach millions (yet another program to be re-examined… 😁)

However when we use our gifts only for our own self gratification and gain this is when we will live in the grips of the ego and all it’s stories, tricks and delusions.

It can feel overwhelming to share sometimes, especially those of us who are highly sensitive.

That’s why the saying “if you get nervous focus on service” is so potent!

When you remember that everything you are and have is ultimately to be of service to all of life (which includes ourselves) - this is when we can learn to be truly humble.

Hope this explains how it’s possible to express the fullness of our being, have the things we desire and still stay humble.
